Buddha found his five former disciples in the deer park of “SARANATH”. The cultured ascetics though originally adamant in their views were fully convinced about the great achievements and competence of Buddha. They accepted him to head and guide them forever.
In the first sermon there, Buddha enunciated four noble principles to which they listened in silence and adopted those and thus attained “ARAHANTSHIP”. They were the first disciples of Lord Buddha.
