Maha-Prajapati Gautami with Young Prince Siddhartha

Queen Maha-Maya, the mother of the child died within seven days of birth of baby boy. Maha-Prajapati Gautami, the sister of the queen also married to king Shuddhodhana adopted the child and took care of the child thereafter.
