Bearing the ‘Bodhisattva’, queen Maha-Maya proceeded from ‘Kapilvastu’ to her father’s place ‘Devadaha’. While travelling, she and her retinue halted at ‘Lumbini’ Sal-grove to enjoy the nature. She holds the branch of a Sal-tree above. There upon she was shaken with the throes of birth and while standing she delivered a baby boy having aura around him.
